Malmö is Sweden’s third city and the largest city in the province of Skåne. Malmö is also an important commercial centre of the Öresund Region.

It is an international city with a population of 294,000 – including representatives of 171 nationalities who speak more than 100 different languages.

Malmö received city status in the 13th century, but today’s Malmö is anything but old. In just a few years the city has undergone significant changes. Once a traditional industrial city, Malmö has become a centre of higher education and cutting-edge technology, and is an internationally recognised leader in the field of sustainable urban development.
